As staff, we will work hard to bring our mission statement, “Together, we inspire innovation and a passion for learning in every student”, to life each and every day for our learners in our DSB Ontario North East schools.

Wishing you your best year ever!

Yours in loving learning,

Happy Summer! With just 32 days until school starts on September 5th, this blog is to say "ADIEU" and "THANK YOU"!

I will be retiring on November 30, 2017, with the new Director of Education, Lesleigh Dye, taking over on August 14, 2017. In this blog, I want to share with students, staff, community families, and community partners what a sincere honour and privilege it has been to serve you, since 1998, as both a Superintendent and, for the majority of my time in Senior Administration, as the Director of Education and Secretary to the Board of District School Board Ontario North East.

Before joining the Senior Administration team of DSB Ontario North East, I served the Timiskaming Board of Education as a classroom teacher, Special Education teacher, Vice-Principal and Principal. I wish to express my gratitude to those students, families and communities for the honour to have served them.

I leave the education sector with over 48 years of working with the finest communities, families, staff and students in Ontario. I am most grateful for the fantastic memories that my career has given me to treasure.. Along with the Administration team, I leave a strong team of educators with the vision for success for all students, and a very supportive Board of Trustees.  Lesleigh, the new Director, will fit right in as she too has a strong vision to continue moving the Board forward. This year, our vision will include having our 1:1 iPad program support pedagogy in Grades 5 to 12, a 2:1 program in grades 3 and 4, and increased numbers in the clusters of iPads in grades K to 2.

In closing, thank you from my heart and soul for being a partner with me in creating the best for our students and giving the Superintendents, Principals, Vice- Principals, all other staff, the Board of Trustees and me the opportunity to create the best that education has to offer.
